Emeka owns a spare parts shop in Onitsha. One Monday morning he found the back door open and the cash drawer empty. He had a “CCTV” already, four cameras a cousin fixed two years earlier. When we opened the recorder, the hard disk had stopped recording eight months ago, one camera pointed at the ceiling and the picture at night looked like a bowl of pap. He had the equipment, but he did not have security. He asked me a question I hear every month: “Dan, is there a simple 4-camera kit that just works, and how much should I pay?”
I am Dan Audu, a software engineer and technology consultant in Abuja. I install CCTV for shops, homes, offices and schools, and I sell a complete Hikvision kit in my shop. This Hikvision 4-camera kit review is my honest look at what the kit does, how the picture looks day and night, how long it records, what it costs in naira, where it fails in Nigerian conditions and who should buy something else instead. I have installed this type of kit in Abuja, Kano, Onitsha and Lagos, and I have replaced a few that were badly done.
All prices are rough guides as at 2026. Prices change with the exchange rate and the stock, so use them to check a quote, not as a fixed price list. My overall score for this kit is 8 out of 10 for a small shop, home or office, and I will show you exactly why.
Hikvision 4-camera kit review: the short verdict
For a shop, a small office or a house, this kit gives you clear day pictures, usable night pictures and remote viewing on your phone at a price that most small businesses can afford. It is easy to expand, the parts are easy to find in Nigerian markets and any decent technician knows how to service it. The weak points are power (cheap power supplies and NEPA), the small hard disk that fills up faster than people expect and the need to secure the recorder properly. If you install it well and put it behind a small UPS, it is a solid, honest kit.
What is in the kit
| Part | What it is | What I tell buyers |
|---|---|---|
| 4 outdoor bullet cameras (1080p, about 2 megapixel) | Cameras with infrared night vision and a weather-resistant body | Good for door, counter, stock area and compound. Position matters more than the brand. |
| 4-channel DVR (digital video recorder) | The box that records the pictures on a hard disk | Check the model code and the recording mode. Some entry recorders record at a lower frame rate. |
| 1TB surveillance hard disk | Storage for the recordings | Enough for a small shop, but plan for how many days you need to keep. |
| Power supply and splitter | Feeds 12V power to the four cameras | Cheap power supplies cause most night-time faults. Use a good one. |
| Cable and connectors | Carries picture and power from the cameras to the recorder | Cable quality and neat joints decide whether the kit lasts for years or months. |
| Mouse and HDMI or VGA output | For setting up and viewing on a monitor | You will need a TV or monitor to view the recorder locally. |
My shop lists the Hikvision 4-camera CCTV kit (1080p, DVR, 1TB) at ₦395,000, with a sale price of ₦360,000 at the time of writing, and installation is available. The parts and model codes can change, so ask me to confirm the exact items before you order.
My score at a glance
- Picture quality: 8 out of 10. Sharp in the daytime, usable at night when the cameras are placed well.
- Ease of setup: 8 out of 10 for a technician, 5 out of 10 for a first-time do-it-yourself buyer.
- Reliability: 8 out of 10 with a good power supply and UPS.
- Value for money: 9 out of 10 for a small site.
- Storage and expansion: 6 out of 10. The 1TB disk is small for continuous recording, and 4 channels leave no room to add a fifth camera without a bigger recorder.
How a Hikvision analog HD kit works, in plain words
Many buyers do not know what they are buying. They hear “4 cameras” and assume they are all the same. The real difference is the technology inside. This kit is an analog HD system. That does not mean old and blurry. It means the camera sends a high-definition picture down a coaxial cable (the same type of cable used for satellite TV) to a recorder, and the recorder stores it and lets you watch it live.
Analog HD (DVR) versus IP (NVR)
In an analog HD system, the DVR does the heavy work, and the cameras are simple. Power and picture travel along one cable pair or a combined cable. In an IP system, each camera is a small computer on the network, connected by network cable, and a network video recorder (NVR) stores the pictures. IP cameras can give sharper, wider pictures and more features. They cost more and need more knowledge to set up. For a shop, a house or a small office, analog HD is still a great value. For a school, hotel or large office, I usually prefer IP. My guide on office and estate CCTV shows when I switch.
What “1080p” really means
1080p is the picture size: 1920 by 1080 dots, about 2 megapixels. It is good enough to see who is in your shop and what they are doing. It is not magic. A face at the gate, 20 metres from the camera, will be a small blur. The closer the camera is to the place you want to see, the more useful the picture. I explain camera placement below.
Watching from your phone
The recorder connects to your router by network cable and connects to the manufacturer’s cloud service. You install the Hik-Connect app, scan a code on the recorder, and you can see your cameras from anywhere with internet. Emeka watches his shop from his home in Enugu on weekends. Live viewing uses a little data, so use Wi-Fi where you can, and be careful with mobile data if you have a small bundle.
How much does the Hikvision 4-camera kit cost in Nigeria?
The kit in my shop is ₦395,000 with a sale price of ₦360,000, as at 2026. That is a fair price for a full kit with a 1TB surveillance disk and installation available. Elsewhere you may see cheaper “4 camera” packages from ₦150,000, and much dearer ones above ₦600,000. The difference is usually camera type, recorder quality, disk size, cable quality and who does the installation. For a complete cost breakdown by building type, read my guide to CCTV installation cost in Nigeria.
| Cost item | Typical range (as at 2026, prices change) | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| 4-camera 1080p kit with DVR and 1TB disk | ₦250,000 to ₦450,000 | Depends on brand, cable length and authenticity. My shop price is ₦360,000 to ₦395,000. |
| Installation labour for 4 cameras | ₦50,000 to ₦150,000 | Depends on roof, walls, distance and city |
| Extra cable, conduit and connectors | ₦15,000 to ₦60,000 | For long or hidden runs |
| UPS or small inverter for recorder and cameras | ₦45,000 to ₦150,000 | Protects against cuts and spikes |
| Monitor or TV for local viewing | ₦60,000 to ₦140,000 (if you do not have one) | A basic 19 to 24 inch monitor is enough |
| Bigger disk (2TB or 4TB) upgrade | ₦45,000 to ₦140,000 | Worth it if you keep footage for weeks |
Why a very cheap kit costs more later
I have replaced several “₦120,000 4-camera kits” for people who thought they were saving money. Thin cable, cheap adapters, a non-surveillance hard disk that fails within a year and cameras with poor night vision are the usual problems. The kit is not a bargain if you have to buy it again. Also watch for copies of well-known brands. A bright box and a familiar logo do not prove a genuine product.
Deposit and payment
For installation work, a fair arrangement is a deposit before materials are bought, a payment when the installation finishes and the balance after testing and handover. Ask for a receipt and a short written scope: number of cameras, cable type, disk size, power backup and what happens if something fails in the first month.
Does the kit include installation?
The kit can be bought alone or with installation. If you are handy, you can install a simple kit yourself. If you are not, pay a technician. A neat installation with conduit, sealed joints and clean cable routes lasts for years. A bad one fails in the first rainy season.
Installing the Hikvision kit in Nigerian conditions
The kit works in the pictures on the box. Nigeria is different: power cuts, hot roofs, dust, insects, rain, thieves who know where the cameras are and neighbours who do not like being filmed. Here is how I plan an install.
Step 1: Decide what each camera must prove
Do not start with “where can I fit four cameras”. Start with “what do I need to be able to prove”. For Emeka’s parts shop, I chose these four jobs: one camera on the entrance to see every face coming in, one over the counter to see the cash drawer and each sale, one on the store room and one on the back door and yard. Each camera has one job. Do not point a camera at a wide area and hope it will cover everything.
Step 2: Height, angle and light
Mount indoor cameras about 2.5 to 3 metres high, angled down enough to see faces, not just the tops of heads. Outdoor cameras go a little higher and under an overhang. Avoid pointing a camera straight at a bright window, a gate in strong sun or a security light. Glare turns people into dark shapes. In Kano and Kaduna, where the sun is fierce, I check the picture at noon and at night before I finish.
Step 3: Cables, connectors and the power supply
Use good coaxial and power cable, and run it in conduit or trunking where it can be touched. Seal outdoor connectors with tape and weatherproof boots. I use a good power supply rated well above the total load, and I avoid cheap adapters that give the wrong voltage after a long run. A camera that shows a fine picture in the day and goes black at night is often a power problem, because the infrared lights draw more current.
Step 4: Backup power and surge protection
The four cameras and the recorder together draw a small amount of power, often around 30 to 50 watts. A basic UPS or a small inverter line can keep the system running through short cuts and long ones with a proper battery. A recorder that loses power in the middle of writing can corrupt the disk or lose the last hour of footage, which is exactly the hour you want after a break-in. I also recommend surge protection because lightning can travel along the long cables.
Step 5: Heat, dust and insects
The cameras are built for outdoor weather. The recorder is not. Keep it in a ventilated place, off the floor, away from the generator, and never in a closed, hot ceiling cabinet. Give it space to breathe, and clean the dust from the vents every few months. Insects and spiders love the warm cameras at night. In some places I use small anti-insect shields or move the camera so the infrared light does not attract bugs directly in front of the lens.
Step 6: Internet for remote viewing
Connect the recorder to your router by cable. If the shop uses a weak SIM router, check the upload speed. Watching four live cameras on your phone uses more upload than most people expect. If you need a better line for the shop, my Starlink Standard Kit review may help you decide on a stronger connection.
My handover checklist for every installation
Before I leave a site, I go through the same list with the owner, standing next to the recorder. It takes about twenty minutes and it prevents most of the phone calls I used to get a month later.
- Watch each camera live on the monitor and on the owner’s phone, in daylight and again after dark.
- Walk in front of every camera and play the recording back, to prove the recorder saved it.
- Set the date, time and time zone correctly. A recording with the wrong time is weak evidence.
- Change the recorder password, write it down on paper for the owner and store nothing in a shared chat group.
- Check the disk shows as healthy, and note the recording days it predicts.
- Switch off the mains and confirm that the UPS keeps everything running.
- Label each cable end at the recorder with the camera name, so a future technician does not guess.
- Take photos of the finished work and keep a copy with the receipt.
What Emeka’s four cameras look like now
For the spare parts shop in Onitsha, I placed camera one above the entrance at 2.7 metres, angled to catch faces as people step in. Camera two sits above the cash drawer and sees hands, cash and the receipt book. Camera three covers the store room shelves. Camera four watches the back door and the yard from under the eave, with the security light on a sensor. The recorder sits in a locked cabinet with ventilation slots and a small UPS. Since the installation, Emeka has checked the playback on the first Monday of every month, and once caught a staff member giving away goods without a receipt. The system paid for itself with one caught mistake.
Picture quality, night vision and storage: what the kit records
This is the part everyone asks about: can I see faces, can I see at night, and how many days does it keep? Here are my honest notes from real installations, not from the brochure.
Daytime picture
In good light, the 1080p picture is sharp and colourful. At the counter of Emeka’s shop, from about three metres, I can read the amounts on a notebook and see the face of every customer. At the entrance, faces are clear at three to six metres. Beyond about ten metres, you can tell that a person is there and what they are wearing, but you cannot identify them. If you want to identify a person, place the camera closer or use a narrower lens.
Night vision
The cameras use infrared lights, so at night the picture is black and white. The published range on such cameras is often 20 to 40 metres, but treat that as the distance where you can see something, not the distance where you can recognise a face. In my tests I get good face detail at about 5 to 8 metres and useful shapes at around 15 metres. A wall right in front of the camera bounces the infrared back and washes out the picture, so do not mount a camera too close to a wall or a pillar. If you need colour pictures at night, look at cameras with white light or “colour night vision”, which cost more.
Faces, number plates and gates
| Target | Best camera setup | What to expect from the kit |
|---|---|---|
| Faces at a shop door | Lens around 2.8 mm to 3.6 mm, mounted at about 2.5 m, facing the door | Good identification inside 5 to 6 metres in daylight |
| Cash counter | Above and slightly in front of the till | Clear view of hands, cash and receipts |
| Compound or yard | Wide lens at a corner, high, under the eave | General movement, not faces |
| Vehicle number plates | Dedicated camera, narrow lens, right angle and good light | The basic kit is not made for this. Use a special camera. |
| Gate at night | Camera close to the gate with extra light | Fine with a security light. Without one, only shapes. |
How long does a 1TB disk record?
It depends on picture settings and on whether the recorder records all the time or only when it sees movement. A good rule is this: one 1080p camera at a moderate setting uses roughly 10 to 40 GB per day. Four cameras together use 40 to 160 GB per day. A 1TB disk has about 900 GB of usable space. Here is what that means, as an estimate.
| Recording setting (per camera) | Approximate use for 4 cameras per day | Approximate days on a 1TB disk |
|---|---|---|
| Efficient compression, about 1 Mbps | About 43 GB | About 20 days |
| Standard, about 2 Mbps | About 86 GB | About 10 days |
| High quality, about 4 Mbps | About 173 GB | About 5 days |
| Motion recording only (busy shop, standard quality) | About 30 to 60 GB | About 15 to 30 days |
These are estimates. Your real number changes with the recorder model, the compression it uses, the light and how busy the scene is. A camera facing a busy road uses much more space than a camera facing a quiet back room. If you need to keep 30 days of footage for a school or a clinic, upgrade to 2TB or 4TB. My advice on data backup for small business applies here too: for important footage, copy it to another drive or cloud storage, because the recorder can be stolen or damaged.
Why the disk matters more than people think
A normal computer hard disk is built for a few hours of use a day. A surveillance disk is built to write day and night for years. Ask the seller to confirm that the 1TB disk in your kit is a surveillance type. Replace the disk every three to five years, sooner if the recorder reports errors. Emeka’s old system had stopped recording because the cheap disk had failed and nobody checked. Put a reminder in your phone to look at the playback once a month.
Pros and cons of the Hikvision 4-camera kit
What I like
- Great value for a small site. A complete kit at a price that a shop owner can carry.
- Easy to service. Technicians across Nigeria know Hikvision, and parts such as connectors, power supplies and disks are easy to find.
- Phone viewing. The Hik-Connect app works well, and it is simple for a shop owner to use.
- Good daytime pictures. Clear faces and detail when the cameras are well placed.
- Weather-resistant cameras. Built for rain and dust when installed under an eave with sealed connectors.
- Works with cheap cable. Coaxial cable is easy to run for short distances and cheaper than a full IP network.
- Room to grow. You can add a bigger disk or upgrade the recorder later.
What I do not like
- Power is fragile. Poor power supplies and NEPA cause most of the faults I see.
- The small disk. A 1TB disk holds only days or a few weeks of footage.
- Entry recorders can be limited. Some record 1080p at a lower frame rate or support only certain camera types. Ask for the model code and check the specification.
- Basic night pictures. Black and white at night unless you buy colour night vision cameras.
- No expansion at four channels. If you want a fifth camera, you need a bigger recorder.
- Fake and copied products. The market is full of copies. Buy from someone who can explain where the kit came from.
- Security risks if you are careless. Default passwords and open ports put your footage at risk.
Who should buy this kit, and who should not
Who should buy it
Shops, provision stores, boutiques and small pharmacies. The entrance, the counter, the stock area and the back door are the four places where losses usually happen. My pharmacy POS software pairs well with a counter camera because you can match a sale to a picture when there is a dispute.
Homes and duplexes. Front gate, back gate, side passage and car park are the usual four. A homeowner in Abuja or Port Harcourt can see the gate from the office or on travel.
Small offices, clinics and salons. Reception, the corridor, the back door and the store room. A camera in the reception area reduces disputes and helps with staff discipline.
Churches, mosques and small event halls. Entrances, offering areas and equipment rooms. Discuss privacy with the leadership and put up signs.
Who should not buy it
Estates, schools and warehouses. You need more cameras, more storage, better night vision and usually an IP system. See my CCTV for schools article for that level of planning.
People who need to read number plates. A general 1080p camera cannot read plates on a moving car at a busy gate. You need a special camera with the right lens and lighting.
People who want to install it without any skill or care. A badly run cable or a poorly set recorder can waste the whole kit. If you cannot do it, pay for installation.
People with no power plan and no monitoring habit. A CCTV system is not “fix and forget”. Check it monthly. If nobody will ever look at the playback, save your money.
Musa runs a supermarket in Kano and lost stock every month without knowing how. We placed four cameras: one on the door, one on the till, one on the storeroom and one on the loading side. In the second week, the playback showed a delivery man taking two cartons out through the loading door. Musa did not shout. He showed the clip to the supplier, and the loss stopped. He said the best part was that he no longer had to guess who to trust.
Hikvision 4-camera kit alternatives
No kit is right for every building. These are the options I compare with my clients when they ask me for a 4-camera system.
| Option | Typical price for 4 cameras (as at 2026) | Best for | Weak point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hikvision analog HD kit (this review) | ₦250,000 to ₦450,000 | Shops, homes, small offices | Small disk, basic night colour, fragile power |
| Budget analog kits (unbranded or lower-tier brands) | ₦120,000 to ₦250,000 | Very tight budgets | Weak cables, poor disks, short life, hard to service |
| Hikvision or other IP cameras on a PoE recorder | ₦450,000 to ₦1,000,000 | Offices, schools, larger sites | Higher cost and a network to design |
| Dahua and similar brands | ₦250,000 to ₦500,000 | Shops and offices wanting another brand | Similar limits, ask about local support |
| Wi-Fi cameras with memory cards (for example, plug-in indoor cameras) | ₦80,000 to ₦200,000 | A flat, a bedroom, a small shop | Depends on Wi-Fi and power, limited storage, some need a monthly plan |
| Solar or 4G cameras | ₦250,000 to ₦700,000 per camera | Farms, sites with no power or wired internet | High price, limited storage, needs SIM data |
Wi-Fi cameras: when they are enough
A single Wi-Fi camera in a bedroom or a small shop can be enough, and it is cheaper. I would not use Wi-Fi cameras for a business with valuable stock, because Wi-Fi drops, power cuts kill them and a thief can unplug them. Recorder-based systems with cables are much harder to defeat.
IP cameras and PoE: worth the upgrade?
IP cameras give better pictures, wider views and smarter detection. A PoE (power over Ethernet) recorder powers the cameras through the network cable, so you only run one cable per camera. If you are building a new office or doing a serious renovation, I usually recommend IP for that reason. For an existing shop with coaxial cable already in place, an analog HD upgrade is cheaper and simpler.
Hilook, EZVIZ and other names
Hikvision sells budget lines under other names, and other brands sit close in price. They can be good, but the model and the seller matter more than the logo. Ask for the model code, the recorder’s supported resolution and the disk type. If the seller cannot tell you, walk away.
Keeping your Hikvision kit secure and legal in Nigeria
A camera system is a computer on your network, and it holds pictures of your customers, your family and your staff. Treat it that way.
Change the default password on day one
Use a long, unique password for the recorder, and do not share it on WhatsApp groups. Create separate accounts for the manager and for the staff who only need to view. Do not leave the recorder with the factory login, because those are well known.
Update the firmware and avoid opening ports
Firmware (the built-in software of the recorder) gets security fixes. Ask your installer to check it at setup and once a year. Use the cloud service, such as Hik-Connect, for remote viewing instead of opening ports on your router. An open port can expose your recorder to strangers scanning the internet. For the wider picture, read my cybersecurity basics for small business.
Real and fake products
Copies of well-known CCTV brands exist in many markets. Ask for the serial number labels, a proper box and a receipt with the company name. Check the maker’s official site for how to verify products and for support pages. You can start at Hikvision’s official website.
What has been reported about government restrictions
You may read that some governments have restricted Hikvision equipment. According to public reports, the United States has limited the use of certain Chinese surveillance equipment, including Hikvision, in federal contexts, and the United Kingdom told government departments in 2022 to stop installing such cameras on sensitive sites. Hikvision has publicly disputed the security concerns. I am not a lawyer and I do not make political claims. What I can say is that I know of no Nigerian rule that bans the kit, and that your practical safety comes from the basics: strong passwords, updates, no open ports and good installation.
Privacy, signs and staff
If you record staff and customers, you are handling personal data. Nigeria has a data protection law, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and a regulator, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, whose official information is at ndpc.gov.ng. In practice: put a clear sign that CCTV is in use, do not point cameras into a neighbour’s bedroom or toilet areas, limit who can view the footage and keep it only as long as you need it. If you have a serious question, ask a lawyer.
Warranty and after-sales for the Hikvision kit
A CCTV kit usually has several warranties, not one. The cameras and the recorder may have one period, the hard disk another, and the power supply a shorter one. Distributors in Nigeria often offer somewhere between 12 and 24 months on the main items, and hard disks follow the disk maker’s terms, but this varies. Ask the seller to write down the period for each item and what the process is.
What is normally covered and what is not
- Usually covered: a camera that fails on its own, a recorder that will not boot, a disk that fails without abuse.
- Usually not covered: lightning and surge damage, water in a badly sealed connector, damage from a wrong power supply, cut or eaten cable and physical damage.
- Common trap: the warranty is often void if a stranger has opened the equipment or if there is no serial number label.
What I suggest before you pay
- Ask which items carry a warranty and for how long.
- Ask what you must do to claim: bring the item, send it or call a technician.
- Get the model codes and serial numbers written on your receipt.
- Ask what is included for installation, and how long the installer guarantees his work.
- Ask what happens if a camera fails in the first month.
After-sales service and maintenance
The kit is sold with delivery across Nigeria and with setup and support available. I can install it in Abuja and organise installation in other cities through partners. A yearly service visit is a good idea: clean the lenses, check the cable joints, test the disk, update the firmware and check the playback. It costs far less than losing a month of footage because the recorder quietly stopped. Ask me about this when you book installation.
Where to buy and my final score for the Hikvision 4-camera kit
You can order it from the Hikvision 4-camera CCTV kit product page, and you can see my other security and network gear in the shop. Whoever you buy from, ask for the model codes, the disk type, the warranty terms, the cable length and the installation plan in writing.
The scorecard
| Area | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Picture quality | 8 / 10 | Clear in the day, usable at night when placed well |
| Ease of setup and use | 8 / 10 | Simple app, but installation needs skill |
| Reliability | 8 / 10 | Strong with good power and a UPS |
| Value for money | 9 / 10 | A complete kit for a small site |
| Storage and growth | 6 / 10 | 1TB is small and 4 channels have no room to grow |
| Overall | 8 / 10 | A sensible, honest kit for shops, homes and small offices |
My honest advice in one paragraph
Buy this kit if you have a shop, a home or a small office and you want reliable cameras without a huge bill. Add a UPS, ask for a surveillance disk, place each camera with a clear job and change the default password on day one. If you run a school, a hotel or a big warehouse, skip the small kit and ask for an IP design. And whatever you buy, check the playback once a month, because the best camera in the world is useless if it stopped recording in March.
Key takeaways
- The Hikvision 4-camera 1080p kit is a good-value, honest system for shops, homes and small offices, and my score is 8 out of 10.
- Budget for the kit, installation, a UPS and possibly a bigger disk, not just the box price.
- A 1TB disk holds roughly 5 to 20 days of continuous footage depending on settings, so plan storage.
- Camera position decides the result. Give each camera one job and test it day and night.
- Power is the top cause of faults in Nigeria. Use a good power supply, a UPS and surge protection.
- Change default passwords, update firmware and avoid opening router ports.
- Buy from a seller who gives model codes, serial numbers, warranty terms and installation support in writing.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a Hikvision 4-camera CCTV kit in Nigeria?
As at 2026, a complete 4-camera 1080p kit with a DVR and 1TB disk usually costs ₦250,000 to ₦450,000, before or after installation depending on the seller. My shop lists it at ₦395,000, with a sale price of ₦360,000. Prices change with the exchange rate, so confirm before you pay.
How long will a 1TB disk record on a 4-camera kit?
It depends on settings. With efficient compression and continuous recording, about 20 days is possible. With standard settings, expect about 10 days, and with high quality about 5 days. Motion recording can stretch this to a month in a quiet place.
Can I watch my Hikvision cameras on my phone?
Yes. Connect the recorder to your router by cable, install the Hik-Connect app and scan the code on the recorder. You can then watch live and playback from anywhere with internet. Use a strong password and do not open router ports.
Do the cameras work when NEPA takes the light?
Only if the recorder and cameras have backup power. A small UPS or an inverter line keeps the system running. Without it, the system stops recording during the cut and may restart badly when the power returns.
Is 1080p enough for a shop?
Yes, for most shops. It gives clear faces at the door and clear detail at the counter when the camera is close and well placed. For number plates or wide areas, you may need special cameras or a higher resolution IP system.
Should I install the kit myself?
You can if you are comfortable with cables, drilling and setting up a recorder. Most people should pay a technician, because poor cabling, poor camera positions and weak power are the top causes of failure. A good installation is worth more than the money you save.
Are Hikvision cameras safe to use in Nigeria?
Some governments have restricted them, according to public reports, and the company has disputed the concerns. There is no Nigerian ban that I know of. Your safety depends on basics such as strong passwords, firmware updates, no open ports and buying genuine products.
Next step: get the right CCTV plan for your place
Tell me what you want to protect, where the building is and how many entrances it has. I will tell you whether a 4-camera kit is enough, where to place the cameras and what the total cost looks like. If you want a professional installation, see my CCTV installation service in Abuja. You can also book a free consultation, or message me on WhatsApp from the site, and we will plan the cameras before anyone drills a wall.
